​A History of DTS,

Timelines:

• In 1985, the two-year-technical program of Navigation Group was established and named as the "Department of Navigation Technology", which was the pioneer of the Department of Technology.
• In 1987, as the professional manpower requirements for the large-scale, automated and navigation system technology of ships, the department expands a two-year-program for Electro Engineering and Electrical Engineering groups.
• In 1993, a four-year program Navigation group was established, which became a technical and vocational department with two-year and four-year technical programs.
• In 2003, the two-year technical programs were suspended, and the four-year technical Transportation group was added. At the same time, the department was renamed as "Department of Transportation Technology".
• In 2005, it was renamed as "Department of Transportation and Navigation Science", and the Transportation technical group was transformed to higher education for high school students.
• In 2006, a Master Program was established.
• In 2007, the Navigation Technical Group was transformed to higher education for high school students.
• In 2010, with the transformation of the University, the department was renamed as the Department of Transportation Science with Master Programs, which is the only transportation-related department of National Universities in Northern Taiwan.
• In 2019, an Executive Master Program in Transportation and Supply-chain Management was established.
